Assessment methods:

  • Online theory – Multiple-choice questions and case studies, completed in our student portal. Progress is saved automatically so you can start and stop anytime.
  • Video demos – Record yourself completing practical food safety tasks (such as washing hands, checking use-by dates, or using barriers when handling food). Videos can be uploaded directly from a smartphone or tablet through our easy-to-use portal.
  • Third Party Report – Conducted in a commercial kitchen under the observation of an industry expert (such as a chef, food supervisor, or experienced hospitality worker). Using a checklist we provide, the supervisor confirms your ability to apply safe food handling practices in a real workplace. The completed report is then submitted back through the portal for review.
