This nationally recognised unit covers assessing an emergency, managing an unconscious casualty, performing CPR, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), controlling bleeding, managing asthma and anaphylaxis, and communicating incident details.

Complete the self-paced online theory and required classroom practical assessment. When you are found competent, you receive the applicable Statement of Attainment listing HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Important course requirements

Course format

This accredited First Aid course cannot be completed fully online. It includes online theory and a required face-to-face classroom practical session. To be marked competent, you must complete the theory, attend the practical session, participate in First Aid scenarios and successfully complete the assessment requirements.

Practical ability

CPR assessment requires you to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single-rescuer CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor. If an injury, disability, pregnancy, mobility restriction or other concern may affect your practical tasks, contact us before booking to discuss support or reasonable adjustments.

Enrolment requirements

Photo ID is required before assessment evidence can be accepted. A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required before your Statements of Attainment can be issued. An LLN and digital literacy check may be completed at enrolment.
