This course is delivered online with a required workplace assessment.
Online learning and assessments - Complete the theory at your own pace in our student portal. Save your progress and return anytime.
Workplace assessment - Students must organise access to an approved operational commercial kitchen. A supervisor or industry expert observes you across a minimum of 3 separate occasions totalling at least 6 hours, using a checklist we provide.
Host Site Pre-Approval and Declaration - Choose a commercial kitchen and ask a supervisor or food handler to complete a short online form confirming the site is suitable and safe. The form is sent directly to Eclipse Education for review and approval, and must be approved before any shifts begin. We provide this form when you start your online theory.
Eclipse placement forms - During your workplace shifts you will complete three short digital forms we provide: a Temperature Monitoring Log, a Food Disposal Record, and a Food Safety Incident Report. These are straightforward to fill in on any device during your normal work tasks and are submitted directly to us. We send you everything you need and walk you through it all once you reach this stage.
We provide all forms and guidance once you enrol. The responsibility for finding a suitable commercial kitchen lies with the student, and we make the process as simple and supported as possible.
